Shakira Plans on Dedicatign Life to Music and Charity
Popstar Shakira may have recently tried her hand at acting, but she has said her life is still dedicated to her charity work and music.
The She Wolf singer recently recorded a cameo role in US sitcom Ugly Betty, but, speaking after she addressed the Oxford Union, she stressed that she had no plans to become a full-time thesp.
Laughing, she said: “I don’t think I have the talent of an actress… Or at least even the time - I don’t have the time to really commit to be an actress.”
She continued: “I do have a tremendous commitment to music, and that’s what I hope to do for the rest of my life.”
Shakira, set to embark on a world tour next year, said it had been “a great honour” to address the Union.
After spending time signing autographs for students, she said: “It was so exciting to be able to share some of my thoughts on universal education with so many students that is so recognised globally.
“To be standing right there on the stage where so many other important social and political figures have spoken in the past - it was just a great honour.”
