“The Widget Bazaar” just opened, marking a new era for FiOS TV service. The goal of this initiative is to supply additional features and applications for FiOS TV subscribers. It will also be open to third-party software developers under revenue sharing agreement.

Many cable providers are aggressively promoting Triple-Play but this does not hamper Verizon in leading the market. They face the challenging market place by offering different feature and functionalities for its FiOS TV. Doing so, it will allow consumers to choose a variety of entertainment option suited for their needs.

Verizon FiOS long range plan seems to be doing well in penetrating more market and spreading awareness of FiOS. There have been an increased in number of FiOS TV subscribers, as revealed by their continuous growth during the past 2 quarters. Verizon had about a million users of FiOS TV marked at the end of second quarter of 2009. Verizon will be better equipped to battle with the large name of the telco industry once they have full penetrated a great number of market shares by widening their area of coverage. Once this happens, expect that the wireless system will also be strengthening providing 4G capabilities.
